About Us – Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA)
The Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA) is one of Bangladesh’s leading non-governmental human rights organizations dedicated to promoting justice, equality, and the protection of women and children. Established in 1979 and headquartered in Dhaka, BNWLA works to uphold the rule of law and ensure equal rights and opportunities for all women and children.
BNWLA provides free legal aid, counseling, shelter, rehabilitation, and advocacy services to women and children who are survivors of violence, trafficking, discrimination, child marriage, domestic abuse, and other human rights violations. The organization also works to strengthen the professional capacity of women lawyers and improve access to justice for marginalized communities.
Through public interest litigation, legal reform initiatives, research, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, and international institutions, BNWLA has played a significant role in advancing women’s and children’s rights in Bangladesh. Its work has contributed to important legal and policy reforms, including efforts to combat sexual harassment, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
